While another snap shows a Hibs fan holding a broken seat above his head while on his phone.

Green flares were also thrown from the crowd onto the park before kick-off.

Hibs say they are aware of the incidents and are working closely with Motherwell to identify those culpable.

An estimated 3,500 supporters made the journey from Edinburgh for the Sunday lunchtime game.

A Hibs spokesperson said: “We are aware of the incidents in the away end at Fir Park and will work closely with Motherwell FC in an attempt to identify supporters that were involved.

“If any supporter can be positively identified, then the club will take appropriate action.”

Motherwell and Police Scotland have been approached for comment.

Elias Melkersen scored both goals as Hibs reached yet another Hampden semi-final.

There cause was greatly helped when Bevis Mugabi was sent off in the FIRST minute for the home side.

His tackle on Josh Doig forced the Scotland youngster off a short time later and Willie Collum was in no doubt it deserved a red.

Jordan Roberts was shown yellow on six minutes for arguably a similar challenge.

Melkersen handed Hibs the lead shortly after being booked for an elbow into Ricki Lamie.

He then added a second before celebrating with the crowd – which didn’t warrant a second yellow.

Joe Efford got the ten men back in it on 43 minutes and Well were the better team in the second half.

But Shaun Maloney – appointed shortly after the Premier Sports Cup final defeat to Celtic – will get a Hampden dugout appearance in the next round.

Hearts are also in the final four after Saturday night’s win over St Mirren, while Dundee, Rangers, Dundee United and Celtic will all eye a spot in Monday’s draw.
