Inter Milan want Gabriel Jesus transfer with forward’s contract expiring and Man City considering cashing in this summer

INTER Milan are among several top European clubs keeping tabs on Manchester City star Gabriel Jesus.

The Brazil international has just over 16 months remaining on his current contract at the Etihad.

That means City may have to cash in on him this summer unless there is an agreement over an extension in the coming months.

Reports in Italy say that Inter are likely to lead the chase for the 24-year-old if he becomes available.

They are long-term admirers of the Samba star and will be primed to make a move if his future is not resolved when the transfer window re-opens.

And City may be tempted to do a swap deal for Jesus that will see Inter star Lautoro Martinez heading to the Etihad in exchange for the Brazilian, reports suggest.

But City’s Prem title rivals Liverpool plan to encroach on City’s pursuit of Martinez with a transfer bid of their own.

Both the Prem titans are impressed with the Argentine’s overall goal-scoring record of 61 goals in 165 appearances – although he’s yet to hit the net in the Serie A this year.

Jesus on the other hand has not played for City since the winter break due to a muscular injury but is close to a return to training.

He has been used as a wide man this season by Pep Guardiola, who remains a big fan of the qualities Jesus brings to the team.

Fellow forwards Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez have contracts which will have just a year to run in the summer.
