LEEDS UNITED are reportedly interested in signing Chelsea outcast Kenedy – just weeks after the midfielder’s shock return to Stamford Bridge.
The Blues prematurely ended the midfielder’s loan spell with Brazilian side Flamengo earlier this month.
But according to The Telegraph, the 25-year-old could potentially be snapped up by Leeds before the transfer window closes at 11pm on Monday night.
Reporter Mike McGrath tweeted: “#LUFC enquired about #CFC Chelsea forward Kenedy (similar profile to Minamino) but deal has not progressed ahead of [the] deadline.”
Should Chelsea opt to loan Kenedy to the Whites, the Brazilian would be Marcelo Bielsa’s first signing of the January transfer window.
Kenedy – a £6.3 million arrival from Fluminense in the summer of 2015 – has yet to make an appearance for the Blues since he was recalled by manager Thomas Tuchel.
And the two-time Newcastle loanee admits he was perplexed by the club’s decision to bring him back to west London.
He said of his shock recall: “I was taken by surprise. I found out yesterday night around 11pm. Everything was very fast.

“Chelsea had a contract with Flamengo. They asked me to present myself and I’m presenting myself.
“It was Flamengo that told me. I’m just fulfilling the contract.”
Tuchel said of the midfielder’s return: ”Kenedy is back and I’m very happy about it so this is huge.
“A huge opportunity for him to make his mark at this club and in this team.
“We will try now from today on to push and support him as good as we can.”
Chelsea will be back in action on Saturday afternoon, welcoming League One side Plymouth to Stamford Bridge for their FA Cup fourth-round clash.
Leeds, meanwhile, will travel to the Midlands a week on Wednesday to take on Aston Villa.
