GEORGE KAMBOSOS JR is the king of the lightweights at the start of 2022.
The unbeaten WBA, IBF, WBO and The Ring title holder tops the Ring Magazine’s lightweight rankings.
Kambosos Jr, of course, took the belts off the man who’s behind him in the list, Teofimo Lopez.
The pair squared off at Madison Square Garden and Kambosos Jr secured the world titles by split decision.
Former three weight world champ Vasyl Lomachenko comes in at second.
The two-time Olympic gold medalist welcomes a fight against champ Kambosos Jr this year, which could change the lightweight landscape.
Top Rank president Todd DuBoef, who promotes Lomachenko, said: “Lomachenko has made it very evident to us, and to his team, that it’s the fight he would like.
“We are amicably trying to have discussions with them for a fight in the first half of next year.”
