ROMA boss Jose Mourinho says he’s creating a monster out Tammy Abraham for Gareth Southgate to use for England.
And the 58-year-old reckons if the Three Lions coach can’t see Abraham’s ability then his eyes have to be dodgy.
The Portuguese coach even claimed that the 23-year-old, of Nigerian heritage, should switch countries if Southgate doesn’t call him up to the England squad as he deserves more international caps under his belt.
Speaking before Roma’s 3-2 loss against Hellas Verona, which was Mourinho’s first Serie A defeat with the club since taking charge, he said: “I am trying to create a monster of a forward for Gareth Southgate.
“Unless he doesn’t have proper eyes and still not call him up with the England national team, then I would suggest for Tammy to switch countries.”
“He deserves more caps under his name.”
Mourinho’s impassioned plea to Southgate to pick Abraham comes after his electric start for Roma since joining from Chelsea for £34million this summer.

In just six appearances in all competitions, Abraham’s already scored and set up two goals for the Italian side.
The striker’s first two assists came on his Roma debut, which earned him a standing ovation from the club’s fans.
It’s not the first time there have been echoes of Abraham switching to Nigeria for being overlooked by Southgate.
Since making his Three Lions debut in 2017, the ex-Blues attacker has only made six appearances and scored just once.
And in 2019, Abraham didn’t rule out playing for the Super Eagles due to his lack of starts for England.
When asked about his international future, he said: “We never know. You can never say never … whatever comes first really.”
