Anthony Joshua says he’s ‘feeling good’ after confirmation of Oleksandr Usyk fight date in September and venue

ANTHONY JOSHUA admits he’s ‘feeling good’ ahead of his eagerly-anticipated return to the ring.

The unified heavyweight champion of the world is set to throw down with former cruiserweight king Oleksandr Usyk in the autumn.

Promoter Eddie Hearn announced last week that Joshua’s WBO mandatory will take place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on September 25.

And AJ couldn’t be any more content with the fight, using a Drake lyric to express his current state of mind.

He wrote on Instagram: ‘Feeling good. Living better.”

Joshua’s next outing was supposed to be a blockbuster undisputed title fight with fellow Brit Tyson Fury.

But the biggest bout in the history of British boxing ended up being scuppered when an American judge ordered Fury to have a trilogy fight with Deontay Wilder.

Joshua, 31, was furious at the collapse of the fight, so much so he launched an uncharacteristic blistering attack on The Gypsy King.

He tweeted: “@Tyson_Fury the world now sees you for the fraud you are. You’ve let boxing down!

“You lied to the fans and led them on. Used my name for clout not a fight.

“Bring me any championship fighter who can handle their business correctly.”

But the Olympian’s focus is now fully on slick southpaw Usyk.

He told Sky Sports: “I wanted to go like August but change of opponent, completely different style, the team said push it back a little bit, prepare properly.

“This is a fight I need to win because I was at the final destination on that road to undisputed but now we have a pit stop we have to make with Usyk.

“At the end of September is when I’ll be taking on the former undisputed cruiserweight champion of the world.”

The undefeated Usyk will provide Joshua with one of the toughest tests of his career.

But the Watford warrior is positive he’ll pass it with flying colours.

A fired-up Joshua said of Usyk’s skills: “I fear none of them.

“He don’t bring nothing I ain’t seen before. Two hands, two legs, a brain and a bit of heart.

“He’s a good fighter, I’m challenging myself in training. So yeah, let’s get it on.”
