Conspiracy theorists have now spread claims online that the horror was down Eriksen getting the Covid vaccine or contracting the virus.
But Inter Milan have quashed the rumours, which were also shared by ex-Southampton and England player Matt Le Tissier.
The Italian club confirmed their star player has not been vaccinated and does not have the virus.
Inter director Giuseppe Marotta said: “He didn’t have Covid and wasn’t vaccinated either. At this moment, Eriksen is under the guidance of the Danish medical staff.
“It is right that they release information, but I can say the Inter medical staff have been in contact with them from the start.
“The players are very close and we all immediately communicated with each other after seeing those images. We didn’t want to be invasive and so tried to respect his convalescence once we had been reassured.”
FOOTBALL HORROR
It is understood the claims were circulated after Eriksen’s cardiologist at former club Tottenham said some players may have had Covid jabs, which could have resulted in “scarring” of the heart.
Sanjay Sharma of St. George’s University of London, said he had no prior heart issues during his spell at the Premier League club.
There is no link between the jab and cardiac arrest but in some very rare cases, people can suffer side effects such as a swelling of the heart.
Patients can also suffer a blood clot that could lead to cardiac arrest if it travelled to the heart.
Former Spurs ace Eriksen fell stricken to the ground during the first half of Denmark’s opening game.
Medics immediately rushed over at Copenhagen’s Parken Stadium as his teammates forced a protective shield around him.
Eriksen was eventually taken off the pitch on a stretcher after 13 minutes of intense medical treatment.
The Danish FA confirmed on Sunday morning that Eriksen was stable in hospital and would undergo further tests.
Denmark team doctor Morten Boesen said yesterday the 29-year-old suffered a cardiac arrest and “was gone”.
Eriksen today spoke for the first time and said he feels better but wants to “understand what happened”.
