But he stunned fans when he pulled out to take care of his health and wellbeing.

And the 22-year-old has updated fans in an Instagram post.

He posted a picture of himself from a beach-side balcony.

And he wrote: “Thank for you for all the support and for all the people checking in on me.

“As many of you guys know, I’ve struggled with depression and anxiety for some time now.

“I pushed through so many times but I need some time off and I’m choosing to finally get some help with mental health.”

Garcia became world champion in January when he defeated Britain’s Luke Campbell via technical knockout.

And his next bout was expected to be a cracker.

But Garcia backed out in order to look after his mental health.

He announced the news on his Instagram and wrote: “I know this news may be disappointing to some of my fans but I am announcing today that I am withdrawing from my July 9 fight.

“At this time it is important to manage my health and wellbeing.

“I have decided to take some time off to focus on becoming a stronger version of myself.

“I hope to be back soon and am looking forward to stepping back into the ring when I am my healthiest self.

“I want to thank God, my family, my doctors and my supporters.”
