  • AND THAT’S A WRAP

Ok so after all that build up to one of the biggest rivalries in the history of the land, I have to say that this game was a let down to say the least

From the first whistle there wasn’t much going forward from either side.

Leeds seemed content with a draw but I am guessing that had something to do with the Yorkshire giants conceding six at Old Trafford.

As for Manchester United, it’s as if the players had one eye on that Europa League semi-final against Roma this Thursday.

The home side had a penalty claim and Marcus Rashford struck a free-kick which tested Illan Meslier in-between the sticks.

But that was the most entertainment we got from the game.

At least there’s the Carabao Cup Final to enjoy including Manchester City and Spurs.

  • MATCH REPORT

Fancy catching up on Neil Custis’ match report on the stalemate between Leeds United and Manchester United.

Somehow, the report is more interesting than the game.

  • NEXT UP

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will know that the Premier League title hunt is all but over but the Norweigan cant turn his attentions elsewhere.

However in the Premier League, Manchester United do have another derby over the horizon because next they welcome a Liverpool side who are hunting a spot in the top four to Old Trafford.

They also face, high-flying Leicester and Aston Villa in the coming weeks.

But on either side of the clash against Jurgen Klopp’s men, the Red Devils have their first and second Europa League semi-final legs against Italian giants, Roma.

  • CURRENT LEAGUE TABLE

The draw for Leeds means that they leapfrog Arsenal into 9th position which makes them a step closer to finishing in the top half of the table.

As for the visitors, it was more two points dropped because it now means that their rivals, Manchester City, only need 6 points to clinch the Premier League title.

  • PHILLIPS’ THOUGHTS

Leeds’ midfield Maestro, Kalvin Phillips was pleased with his team’s performance and feels as if a tie was the right result.

He also gave the media a little insight as to what Marcelo Bielsa’s game plan was this afternoon.

Phillips started off by saying: “Leeds as a club and as a team, we just love to dig in and just make it hard for teams when they come here especially teams like United.

“But it was a good game, I really enjoyed it. Having a battle with the midfielders and everyone on the park, I really enjoyed it.

“We do it all game to be fair, we have different markers every game. My task was Bruno so I tried my best to keep him quiet and luckily he didn’t pop up with a goal.

“I think there was a couple chances either end. I think the first half Man United had a few chances all from set pieces.

“But we came up with a couple towards the end, so all in all it was a fair result.

  • MAGUIRE’S REQUIRED

And on Harry Maguire, the Manchester United centre-half has featured in the last 71 matches for the Red Devils which equals a club record set by Gary Pallister (November 1993 – May 1995).

    That’s quite incredible.

  • MAGUIRE’S MATCH ANALYSIS

Harry Maguire discussed his side’s poor quality in the final third despite feeling as if Man United had a stranglehold of the game.

The Manchester United defender said: “I feel like we had control of the game without really punishing them and creating. I think we created enough chances to score but we didn’t create enough.

“We knew how they was going to play, especially here. We felt it at Old Trafford in the first half but we capitalised on the areas that they left.

“Our attacking players love a one v one and today it just wasn’t to be.

“Defensively we was really good and solid but we just couldn’t find that cutting edge.”

  • FULL 90 STATISTICS

Not much difference from the first half statistics.

The visitors had more possession and shots but nothing really threatening going forward.

  • STALEMATE AT ELLAND ROAD

So a boring game at Leeds ends goal-less with the highlight of the match being a penalty claim.

    Lost for words.

  • PEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!

SO AFTER HAVING 8 GOALS LAST TIME OUT

WE’VE HAD NONE HERE THIS AFTERNOON

    FT: LEEDS 0-0 MAN UTD

  • LEEDS 0-0 MAN UTD

90+2. Manchester United are really trying to force their way through this Leeds back-line.

But the Yorkshire giants are staying firm.

  • FOUR MINUTES OF ADDTIONAL TIME!

  • LEEDS 0-0 MAN UTD

    88. Commentator Jamie Carragher has just said that “this game has been awaful”

You’re not alone with your thoughts Jamie.

  • LEEDS 0-0 MAN UNITED

    84. It looks as if Greenwood is about to have another partner up-front because Solskjaer has just thrown on Cavani for Rashford.

You can tell what the Man United gaffer’s intentions are.

  • LEEDS 0-0 MAN UTD

    82. Ooooff clean strike by Mason Greenwood but equally a good save from the Leeds goalkeeper.

  • SUNNY DELIGHT

The weather has brightened up in Leeds so much that Dean Henderson has had to put on a cap.

But will we see a brighter finish to the game?

  • LEEDS 0-0 MAN UTD

    77. Less than a quarter of an hour to go and we still await the first goal in this match.

I must admit, I am quite disappointed especially when you think of how the last game went.

  • LEEDS 0-0 MAN UTD

    75. Here we go!

Paul Pogba has finally come on in replace of Dan James for his 200th senior appearance in a Manchester United shirt.

Can the Frenchman be the difference maker this afternoon?

  • LEEDS 0-0 MAN UTD

    73. Wow all of that for nothing.

Patrick Bamford slipped in the substitute Klich with a clever ball which caught out Victor Lindelof.

And instead of the attacker hitting it first time, he decided to cut in and try bend the ball with his left foot.

But fortunately for Dean Henderson, the strike went directly into his arms.

  • LEEDS 0-0 MAN UTD

    71. Helder Costa has just picked up which looks like a slight hip injury so he’s had to limp off the field to receive medical attention.

On comes Mateusz Klich in his place.

  • CAVANI’S CALLING

Is it time for Edison Cavani to come on and make the difference again for the Red Devils?

He doesn’t look to pleased to be on the bench that’s for sure.

  • LEEDS 0-0 MAN UTD

    67. First roll of the dice for Marcelo Bielsa.

Jack Harrison whose parent club Manchester City is figuring in a Carabao Cup Final later on today against Spurs.

Has been replaced by Ian Poveda.

  • LEEDS 0-0 MAN UTD

    65. Fernandes tried a cheeky chip over the wall to try and find Rashford who was making the run.

But Kalvin Phillips who has been everywhere this game, was there once again to clean up.

  • LEEDS 0-0 MAN UTD

    65. Greenwood has earned his side another free-kick in a dangerous position but the youngster almost got himself in trouble by raising an arm in frustration.

Bruno Fernandes steps up for the second time today, can he finally put in a decent ball?

  • LEEDS 0-0 MAN UTD

    61. MY GOODNESS THAT WAS CLOSE!

Just as it looked like the visitors were about to take the lead, Helder Costa went right up the other end and almost scored.

But the Angolan saw his shot deflect over the bar.

The game has suddenly become end-to-end now.
