OSCAR DE LA HOYA has dismissed fears concerning his health by uploading a video of him training ahead of his comeback bout.
Fans were worried for the 48-year-old following his appearance on the Jake Paul vs Ben Askren broadcast where delivered a ‘train wreck’ of an interview.
De La Hoya – who won 11 world titles across six weight classes – slurred his words as well as constantly repeating himself throughout.
It led his supporters to urge the 1992 Olympic gold medallist to cancel his comeback fight on July 3.
The Golden Boy is in talks to fight MMA star Eddie Alvarez inside the squared circle in what would be his first contest since losing to Manny Pacquiao in 2008.
And De La Hoya has shown he still boasts blistering hand speed in a video he uploaded to his 866,000 Instagram followers.
Captioning the post, he said: “Beast mode!!!!! Let’s go. Just the beginning!!!”
His fans were quick to comment on the clip, as former IBF super-featherweight champ Joseph Diaz Jr messaged: “Sharper than a needle.”
Another remarked: “Beast!!!!! Let’s get it Oscar!!!!”
A third added: “You still got it Oscar.”

As well as a fight to face Alvarez, De La Hoya has been linked with a number of boxers including Saul Alvarez and Marcos Maidana.
And he was even called out by Amir Khan in August, though fans urged the Brit icon to face Kell Brook instead.
De La Hoya has already called out Gennady Golovkin, bizarrely claiming it would be ‘easy’ to beat the Kazakh warrior.
