Skint Tottenham ‘facing huge transfer offloads with Lloris, Lamela and Aurier future in doubt in order to buy in summer’

TOTTENHAM will have to sell players before they can strengthen their squad this summer, according to reports.

But in order to do so, they will have to flog a number of established players first.

Spurs announced devastating losses of £63.9million last November, with Covid-19 having significantly hit the club in the pocket.

This summer they want to prioritise signing a new goalkeeper, right-back and centre-back.

And according to the Mail, Serge Aurier, Erik Lamela and even skipper Hugo Lloris could all depart.

A problem for club chiefs, however, is that their star players’ values have decreased in the last two seasons.

Two prime examples are Dele Alli and Harry Winks, who have largely been cast aside by under-pressure Jose Mourinho.

But both players could STAY at Spurs, if the Portuguese is dispensed with before next season.

Getting rid of the 58-year-old won’t be cheap, however, and would hit Spurs in the pocket even more.

Juan Foyth, another tossed aside by Mourinho last season, is currently on loan at Villarreal and looks likely to be sold in the summer.

While forgotten man Danny Rose’s contract will expire, ending his 14-year stay at the club.

Gareth Bale has already signalled that he may return to Real Madrid next season, freeing up around £300,000-a-week from Spurs’ wage budget.

And Tottenham aren’t willing to pay the £36million required to make Carlos Vinicius’ loan move permanent.

Spurs’ are reportedly targeting Stuttgart ace Sasa Kalajdzic to replace Vinicius, with the Austrian, 23, having scored 14 goals in the Bundesliga this season.

And with Lloris, 34, linked with a Mauricio Pochettino reunion at PSG, Spurs are chasing Burnley’s Nick Pope as a replacement.

Wolfsburg stopper Koen Casteels is also on their radar.

Tottenham have been heavily linked with the likes of Julian Nagelsmann and Brendan Rodgers, with Mourinho’s job reportedly hanging by a thread.

But even a new manager is set to have their hands tied in the transfer market.
