BARCELONA star Jordi Alba claims he is ‘one of the most hated players in football’.
But the combative defender insists he is actually very humble despite his fiery reputation.

Alba insists his on-field persona is completely different to his personality off the pitch.
The 31-year-old Barcelona left-back told Movistar: “It is clear that if people know me through football, they would think I am one of the most hated players in football, that is clear.
“It is my way of playing and it’s what has led me to be the player I am today and to be where I am.
“Other people know me by how I am, as a very humble person that values everything in my life.
“The player Jordi has nothing to do with the human Jordi or the Jordi with his teammates.
“Yes, it’s true that the way I play is very heavy and I understand the hatred that people who do not know me can have me to me.”
The tough-tackling defender has picked up eight yellow cards already this season.

Alba was booked during Barca’s defeat to Juventus in the Champions League last month and launched an explosive rant at the referee after a late challenge by Aaron Ramsey.
The 31-year-old confronted German referee Tobias Stieler before asking: “How bad are you you b******?
“You have good friends in Italy?”
