Cristiano Ronaldo ‘would not be happy’ to be offered to Man Utd as part of player-plus-cash swap transfer for Paul Pogba

JUVENTUS risk upsetting Cristiano Ronaldo by offering him plus clash for Manchester United’s Paul Pogba.

That’s the claim from Marca amid increasing talk Pogba hopes to return to the Italian champions.

Ronaldo has already hit 16 goals for Juve this season but turns 36 in February and his contract runs out four months later.

Meanwhile, French World Cup winner Pogba again started on the bench for United’s Boxing Day clash at Leicester.

And earlier this month the 27-year-old’s agent Mino Raiola reportedly irked Old Trafford chiefs by insisting: “I can say that it’s over for Paul Pogba at Manchester United.”

But the suggestion is ex-United and Real Madrid hero Ronaldo would be less than pleased to hear he would be the lower-valued player if a swap deal was pursued.

Such a price difference is pretty inevitable, though, given the seven-year age difference.

Juve might consider cashing in on Ronaldo while they can, especially as they believe Pogba would be the lynchpin in Serie A that he has never consistently been in the Prem.

And of Pogba’s future, Raiola said: “It is useless to go around it.

“Paul at Manchester United is unhappy, he is no longer able to express himself as he would like and as expected of him.

“He has to change teams, he has to change the air.

“He has a contract that will expire in a year and a half, in the summer of 2022, but I think the best solution for the parties is to sell in the next market.

“Otherwise, the Old Trafford club, with whom relations are excellent, knows well that they would risk losing him on a free transfer, given that for the moment it is not the player’s intention to extend the contract.

“If someone doesn’t understand it, they understand very little about football.

“In any case, let them blame me if Paul leaves next summer.”
