The Athletic claims Saliba, 19, is hopeful of a fresh start in January after failing to make a single appearance this season.
He signed for Arsenal from St Etienne in 2019 for £27million and was immediately loaned back to the Ligue 1 side.
He returned to the Emirates over the summer expecting to finally receive a place in Mikel Arteta’s side.
But the Spaniard has seen things differently and has opted to keep the 6ft 4in giant waiting for his Gunners debut.
Saliba has instead been spending his time with Arsenal’s Under-23s squad.
But it appears he now has his sights set on leaving on a short-term deal when the winter transfer window opens.
Saliba apparently wants to remain in the UK to ‘speed up his adaptation’.
And there could be a number of clubs interested in signing him until the end of the campaign.
Additional reports claim Saliba is even willing to take a £90,000-a-month pay cut to make his exit smoother.
And Arteta is happy to green light a loan as he believes Saliba has no chance of getting any action this term.
Saliba recently claimed he is ‘locked up’ at the club like compatriot Matteo Guendouzi, who joined Hertha Berlin on loan last summer.
And a short-team deal is sure to be in the interest of all parties concerned.
Saliba still sees his future at the Emirates and believes he can become a first-team regular in the 2021/22 campaign.
