How PSG could line up with Lionel Messi and Neymar but no Mbappe next season as club face transfer dilemma

NEYMAR has admitted that he is ‘sure’ that he will play with Lionel Messi again next season.

But Paris Saint-Germain may have to make a hefty sacrifice in order to make the Brazilian’s wish come true.

How PSG could look next season

In order to squeak through Financial Fair Play rules, the French champions would have to sell superstar Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid in order to fund the deal.

With the 21-year-old showing no indications of extending his current contract, which expires in 2022, however, it may be a necessary evil for PSG chiefs.

But how could Thomas Tuchel, or whoever may be in charge by then at Parc des Princes, line up his side of stars?

SunSport takes a look.

For years PSG messed around with the likes of Salvatore Sirigu, Kevin Trapp and even an ageing Gianluigi Buffon as their No1 goalkeeper.

But in Keylor Navas, they have finally found the perfect man for the job.

The Costa Rican brings the perfect blend of experience and ability to the PSG backline, and is to be a pillar of any success they achieve in the next few years, at least.

Alessandro Florenzi arrived from Roma on loan back in September, and with his good form, appears to be a good bet to extend his stay in the city of love to next season and beyond.

Gone are the days of Thiago Silva and David Luiz, with PSG having their next generation of central defenders at the back.

Marquinhos, at 26, is now at the peak of his powers, and offers excellent leadership reminiscent of his Chelsea-starring former team-mate, while Presnel Kimpembe is a World Cup winner entering his prime years.

PSG may be on the prowl for a new left-back, with soon to be out-of-contract Bayern Munich superstar David Alaba on their radar.

Danilo Pereira arrived from Porto in the summer and is making the holding midfield position his own, as PSG hope to have finally found a proper replacement for former stalwart Thiago Motta.

One of the best, most technically proficient midfielders in the world, Marco Verratti is still a key man in Tuchel’s midfield at 28.

And he could be joined by out-of-favour Tottenham star Dele Alli, with PSG set to try again for the Englishman after three failed approaches last summer.

Messi can then slot on to the right of a star-studded front-three featuring his pals, compatriot Mauro Icardi, and former Barcelona team-mate Neymar.
