PSG ‘offer Sergio Ramos eye-watering £54m contract’ in audacious transfer swoop for Real Madrid captain

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN are reportedly set to offer Sergio Ramos an eye-watering contract worth £54million AFTER tax in an audacious swoop.

Real Madrid are keen to keep hold of their captain, 34, but are only willing to offer him a one-year deal at this stage in his career.

The offer on the table is believed to have the option for a second season, but will be heavily incentivised and appearance-based.

It is the same offer that ultimately led to Pepe quitting the Bernabeu to join Besiktas in 2017.

Ramos has repeatedly claimed he wants to stay at Real Madrid and ultimately retire at the club.

However, the defender is said to be frustrated by the club’s unwillingness to offer him anything more than a one-year guaranteed contract.

Reports in Spain have claimed Ramos would be much more inclined to sign if Los Blancos were to offer him two guaranteed years.

With the legendary defender’s future uncertain, PSG were said to have offered a ‘blank cheque’ to Ramos to steal him away last week, per AS.

And the Ligue 1 champions are said to be willing to offer a THREE-YEAR deal worth £18m per season after tax, according to AS.

PSG sporting director Leonardo sees Ramos as the missing link in his club’s desperate pursuit of a first Champions League title.

The French giants’ interest is likely to force Zinedine Zidane to urge club chiefs to offer Ramos a longer contract.

The Real Madrid boss recently revealed he was desperate to cling on to Ramos – saying he wants him at the Bernabeu ‘forever’.

Zidane claimed: “As always, he is our captain, our leader.

“We want him here forever, it is what he is doing, showing that he always wants to.

“I have no doubt that he will stay and that it will continue to make history.”

Ramos has spent 15 years at Real Madrid following his 2005 move from Sevilla – and has gone on to score 100 times in 660 games in all competitions.

The Spaniard – capped 177 times by his country – has won five LaLiga titles and four Champions League crowns in that time.
