Here’s who is most likely to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Old Trafford

Manchester United are slumped at 15th in the Premier League after winning just two games in six attempts.

A 1-0 loss to Arsenal was followed by a Europa League defeat to Istanbul Basaksehir on Wednesday night.

Solskjaer will have another chance to get things back on track when they face Everton on Saturday.

But another defeat will fuel speculation that his days are numbered at Old Trafford.

Reports on Thursday that the Red Devils had approached former Tottenham boss Poch about taking over.

But SunSport understands there has been no contact with the 48-year-old.

And Pochettino has allegedly held talks with at least one ‘high-profile’ team in recent weeks.

With United at risk of missing out on Poch, SunSport have pulled together a list of their alternative options.

Massimiliano Allegri – 6/1

Allegri has been out of work since he left Juventus at the end of the 2018/19 campaign.

During his time in Italy, the 53-year-old won five Serie A titles in five seasons.

United reportedly added him to their shortlist of potential replacements last month.

Julian Nagelsmann – 10/1

The 33-year-old German manager is currently in charge of Bundesliga side RB Leipzig.

According to ESPN, United will ‘consider’ him as an alternative to Solskjaer.

But Manchester City have also been linked to him to replace Pep Guardiola.

Ralph Hasenhuttl – 12/1

The Austrian manager has caught United’s eye following his remarkable spell with Southampton.

He’s been in charge of the Saints since 2018 following his spell with RB Leipzig.

And he’s exceeded expectations, with Southampton just outside of the top four with four wins from seven.

Laurent Blanc – 16/1

Blanc has been out of work since leaving Paris Saint-Germain in 2016.

He ended his playing career with Manchester United before he bagged his first managerial role in 2007.

The 54-year-old is believed to be on the lookout for his next role after spells with Bordeaux, France and Paris Saint-Germain.

Diego Simeone – 20/1

The 50-year-old might fancy a change of scenery after spending nine years in charge of Atletico Madrid.

Former Manchester City star Trevor Sinclair claimed he’d be a perfect replacement as he said: “I’ve always thought Diego Simeone epitomises Manchester United.”

Simeone won the LaLiga title in 2013, lifted the Europa League twice and reached two Champions League finals with Atletico.
