Five Man Utd players who could be set for transfers in next 24 hours including Romero, Jesse Lingard and Phil Jones

MANCHESTER UNITED’S transfer business may not be done just yet with a number of players set to leave the club in the next 24 hours.

The domestic transfer window closes at 5pm on Friday, allowing Premier League clubs to do business with EFL clubs.

And there are still a few Red Devils players being linked with exits.

Sergio Romero, 33, proved his value in the Europa League run – especially after David De Gea’s error-strewn season – last term.

But Dean Henderson’s return from a successful loan at Sheffield United has seen the Argentine bumped down to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s No3 goalkeeper.

He was left out of the Champions League squad and denied a transfer to Everton before SunSport revealed the stopper begged the club to let him quit.

Phil Jones is also at risk of being let go before the deadline after also missing the European roster.

The Englishman, 28, last played a competitive match in January and scored in that 6-1 thumping of Tranmere in the FA Cup.

That was one of just eight appearances last season and, even with Chris Smalling sold to Roma, he does not look to be part of Solskjaer’s plans.

Marcos Rojo, 30, found himself axed from the Champions League list, too.

Romero’s compatriot spent the second half of last season on loan at Estudiantes in his homeland and is without a Red Devils appearance since November.

Jesse Lingard’s future remains in some doubt following a frustrating start to the campaign.

The 27-year-old’s only two appearances have come in the Carabao Cup and there was talk of a transfer to Tottenham or Zenit during the main transfer window but neither materialised.

And finally, Timothy Fosu-Mensah may find himself shipped out as well.

The Dutchman, 22, was linked with following Smalling to Roma but has not secured a move away yet.

With Alex Telles coming in at left-back, there is a suggestion Brandon Williams may be used as back-up on the right for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Juan Mata, meanwhile, looks set to stay after rejected a mega-money offer from

However, the regulations of the extended transfer window prevents top-flight clubs trading – therefore any departures from Old Trafford would need to drop down into the EFL.

And it is unlikely for any Championship side to be able to afford the wages of the United outcasts.
