Kieran Trippier leaves England squad to attend personal FA hearing over allegedly breaching betting rules

KIERAN TRIPPIER has left the England squad to attend his personal FA hearing over allegedly breaching betting rules last year.

The Three Lions full-back, 30, faces a six-month ban for alleged betting offences in July 2019.

Trippier was charged with misconduct in May relating to gambling offences while completing his move from Tottenham to Atletico Madrid.

And Trippier will now miss the Nations League game against Denmark to attend his hearing.

The FA have claimed he left the squad due to ‘personal reasons’.

The Atleti star maintains he did not personally place any bets or make any profit from bets made by someone else.

Daniel Sturridge was found guilty of a similar offence and was later hit with a global, four-month ban from all football.

The ex-Liverpool striker is claimed to have given his brother inside knowledge on a potential transfer to Sevilla in 2018, while still at the Reds.
