Marcos Alonso could LEAVE Chelsea after Frank Lampard bust-up with Emerson Palmieri transfer now in doubt

MARCOS ALONSO could LEAVE Chelsea this week after his bust-up with Frank Lampard bust-up – putting Emerson Palmieri’s future in doubt.

Lampard was left fuming after Alonso watched the second-half of the 3-3 draw with West Brom on the team bus after being subbed.

The Spaniard was at fault for two of the Baggies’ goals as the newly-promoted side took a shock 3-0 lead into half-time.

After being hauled off, Alonso sulked on the team coach – with Lampard “the angriest players have ever seen him”.

Now the left-back looks set to be sold this summer, with Emerson – once a dead-cert to leave – likely to serve as back-up to Ben Chilwell.

Emerson had looked to be on the brink of an £18million move to Inter Milan, especially after the arrival of Chilwell.

Alonso, 29, has featured in all three of Chelsea’s Premier League games so far this season.

But he was left out of the squad for Tuesday night’s Carabao Cup clash with Tottenham completely, with Chilwell starting and Emerson on the bench.

It’s now being reported Lampard plans to do a U-turn on Emerson, keeping the Italian at Stamford Bridge, and instead sell Alonso, according to Goal.

On Saturday, Alonso emerged from half-time to the bench about 15 minutes into the second period.

But it is believed he had originally sat on the Chelsea team bus by himself after taking a shower following his half-time hook.

Lampard reportedly pulled Alonso up in front of the rest of his squad after the game, claiming the left-back had damage team unity by acting selfishly.

A source told The Athletic: “The players were saying they have never seen the manager like this.

“It kicked off after the game and he was going made at Alonso.

“Some were talking about how they’d be surprised if he plays for Chelsea ever again.”
