Watch Chelsea star Chilwell score two stunning volleys in training as he and Mendy are named in squad to face Tottenham

BEN CHILWELL has fired a warning shot at Tottenham by scoring two sumptuous volleys during training.

The left-back, 23, has been named in Chelsea’s squad for tomorrow’s Carabao Cup fourth-round encounter.

And after making his debut in the third round win over Barnsley, Chilwell looks set to replace Marcos Alonso in Frank Lampard’s starting XI.

The England ace gave fans – and Spurs – a taste of what could come by lashing home two brilliant volleys during training on Monday.

Chilwell certainly brings more attacking intent down Chelsea’s left after a £50million move from Leicester.

And Blues supporters can’t wait to see him in action after his latest pieces of skill at Cobham.

One simply said: “Start him.”

Another tweeted: “Just start him against Spurs or announce the loss.”

One wrote: “English Roberto Carlos.”

Another added: “Do this in matches please and thank you.”

Chilwell has been joined in Chelsea’s matchday squad by fellow new arrival Edouard Mendy.

The goalie has just joined from French side Rennes in a £22million deal.

And he could get his first Blues start with Kepa Arrizabalaga and Willy Caballero both struggling this season.

Lampard revealed: “Mendy and Chilwell are in the squad.

“They’re fit and we will see whether they start or not.”

Lampard also hopes Chelsea can tighten up at the back after shipping 3 goals in their draw with West Brom at the weekend.

He added: “They were clear individual mistakes, you can’t hide from them.

“The players held their hands up. We have to take it on the chin.

“The positive is we got a point from that position, but of course we wanted more.

“I am not making excuses, but some of the work we put in last year was why we were successful.

“Off the ball our work was great. We haven’t had the chance to work as much this year.

“We are in a process, we have to fight through it and every game is an opportunity to improve.”
