He made just four appearances for Chris Wilder’s side before being loaned out to Middlesrough – helping them narrowly avoid Championship relegation.

But his career at Bramall Lane is already over, having not been handed a new contract.

And according to The Mail, Morrison is considering a move to Holland having held talks with Eredivisie pair Vitesse and Utrecht.

The 27-year-old midfielder appeared to have a bright future at Old Trafford, shining for their youth squad.

But he failed to make an impact in the first-team and was shipped off to West Ham in 2012.

Again struggling to hold down a regular spot in the starting 11, Morrison was loaned out to Birmingham, QPR and Cardiff during his time as a Hammer.

He then left England in 2015 to join Lazio in the Serie A.

After a season in Italy, the playmaker fell out of favour and in January 2017 once again returned to QPR on loan.

At the end of the campaign, Lazio again loaned him out, this time to Atlas in Mexico.

There he made 25 appearances, scoring three times, before joining Ostersund.

Morrison would finish the season in Sweden before signing for Sheffield United.

Last season he managed just seven appearances in total, four for the Blades and the rest on loan with Middlesbrough.

Morrison has now hinted at a new move on Twitter, writing: “Movement is coming..”
