Chelsea reportedly bid £20million for the former Everton man this summer, but opted for Thiago Silva, Ben Chilwell and Malang Sarr instead.
Arsenal were also linked with a move for Stones, in a bid to reunite him with former City coach Mikel Arteta.
However, the Gunners made no official bid, and instead signed Gabriel Magalhaes from Lille.
Stones, 26, lost his place in City’s first team and also hasn’t been picked for the England since the 2019 Nations League Finals.
After losing faith in Stones, City manager Pep Guardiola signed centre-back Nathan Ake, 25, from Bournemouth.
But according to The Telegraph, Stones has no intention of leaving City and believes he can win back the trust of Guardiola.
He arrived at city from Everton in 2016 for £50million, in a move thatmade him the second-most expensive defender in the Premier League at the time.
Since being at City he has won the Premier League twice, alongside one FA Cup, and two League Cups.
Stones only made 24 appearances for City last season, his lowest amount of games played since he joined in 2016.
He celebrated his four-year anniversary of being at the club in August with a post on social media, speaking on his achievements.
He said on Instagram: “Four years ago today I signed for this amazing club! What a 4 years it’s been, 2PL, 1FA, 3EFL, 2 Community Shields, I have loved every minute and I am looking forward to my future here.”
