Police visited Man United legend Paul Scholes after he threw an illegal house party in Covid crisis area Oldham

Scholes hosted an illegal party in a Covid hotspot area where dozens of youngsters, including his daughter Alicia, flouted social distancing rules

A spokeswoman for Greater Manchester Police said: “Officers attended and engaged with an individual, explaining the restrictions and encouraging them to be compliant.”

Each guest could have been fined £100 over Friday night’s bash in Oldham — soon after indoor social visits were banned across a swathe of the North because of a Covid spike.

Former England star Scholes, 45 — now a BT Sport pundit — had posed in a “Lockdown Live” T-shirt with DJ Zac Caulcutt, while dozens of youngsters ignored social distancing rules.

Another snap showed his 19-year-old daughter Alicia, an England netball player, posing with a group of friends before the celebrations.

She seemed unrepentant yesterday, sharing an image of the front page story while mocking: “It’s Rebekah Vardy’s account.”
