But the 21-year-old has long been practising the art of putting into the back of the net from set-pieces.

Chelsea uploaded a throwback video of a youthful looking Mount striking one into the top bins.

It proved to be perfect preparation years later as he bent an effort past Rui Patricio.

Mount was also involved in the second goal as he played in Olivier Giroud, who did the rest to secure Chelsea a top-four finish.

He converted his first free-kick of the season, taking his tally of goals to eight.

Only Tammy Abraham, Willian, Christian Pulisic and Olivier Giroud have scored more times this season than Mount.

Abraham finished as the Blues’ leading finisher with 17 goals, Willian in second with 11, Pulisic behind on 10 and Giroud with nine.

Chelsea will hope to take their scoring form into the FA Cup final next week, as they face Arsenal.

New signings Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner will be watching, with both already in London.

Ziyech joined earlier and has started training with the Blues but Werner arrived just in time to watch the Blues beat Wolves.
