Juventus aiming to beat Real Madrid and Premier League giants to £67m Erling Haaland transfer

JUVENTUS want to hijack Real Madrid’s attempts to sign Erling Haaland by plotting a £67million move, according to reports.

The Italian giants are looking to bolster their attacking line and are now targeting Haaland, 19, for a stunning transfer.

According to Tuttosport, Maurizio Sarri’s side are desperate to sign the teenager next year.

That is despite reports suggesting Haaland turned the Old Lady down last year because, despite a reasonable contract offer, they were only willing to put him in the Under-23s.

They look set to lose Gonzalo Higuain in the coming months and therefore the young Norwegian would make a suitable long-term solution.

Haaland only joined Borussia Dortmund in January in a £17m deal from Red Bull Salzburg.

But he has taken to the Bundesliga by storm with 13 goals in his first 13 appearances for Lucien Favre’s side.

It is understood he does have a release clause in his contract with comes into effect in the summer of 2021, potentially making him available for a tempting, low price.

However, Juventus face strong competition for his signature.

And should they miss out on him, the report adds they could instead turn to Napoli’s Arkadiusz Milik

Real Madrid are the clear favourites to land Haaland next – despite his contract at Dortmund running until 2024.

Los Blancos are plotting a third Galactico era and want Haaland to team up with Kylian Mbappe to spearhead the attack.

Plenty of Premier League clubs are also showing interest.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wanted to bring his compatriot to Old Trafford this season but he opted for Germany instead.

Manchester United, though, are likely to go back in for him at the next opportunity.
