MASON HOLGATE has set his sights on breaking into the England squad for the delayed Euros.
The uncapped Everton centre-back, 23, had an impressive season at Goodison Park before Covid-19 saw the season suspended.

But, with the Euro finals postponed until the summer of 2021, Holgate is desperate to force his way into Gareth Southgate’s plans.
Holgate said: “Everybody wants to play for England. From being a kid it’s not something anyone is going to deny. I want to do that.
“Ultimately it’s my performances for Everton that is going to determine if I get picked for an England team.
“I just have to work as hard as I can with Everton and try and get us up the league.
“If an England call up comes off that then I’m over the moon and delighted with it because that’s what I have been aiming for.
“I just have to take it week by week until that period comes and do what I can while I am playing for Everton and hopefully that will come from it.”
Holgate is learning the art of defending from legendary Italian manager Carlo Ancelotti, who has won the Champions League three times.
And the defender, who has represented England U20 and U21s, has enjoyed working with the ex-Juventus, AC Milan and Real Madrid boss since his arrival on Merseyside in December.
Holgate added on an Instagram Live with New Era Global Sports: “I’ve loved it. With the people that he’s worked with and the experience he’s got, it’s unbelievable to be working with him.
“It’s so good for me to learn from someone like that. He makes everything so clear for us all.
“I don’t there’s any grey areas when we are playing and that makes it so much easier for us. I’ve really enjoyed every minute of it so far.”
