BRITISH GP bosses have confirmed that this year’s race will be behind closed doors – subject to government approval – while the French GP has become the 10th race to fall.
F1 chiefs have confirmed that the race at Paul Ricard, that was scheduled for June 28, has been postponed due to the French government’s extension of their coronavirus lockdown.

But the British GP may still go ahead, behind closed doors – and here’s how it could work.
- Team members at the seven-UK based teams would board coaches at their team’s factories and driven directly to Silverstone.
- Drivers to arrive via helicopter at on-site helipad or via coach transfer with the rest of their team.
- Anyone entering the site, including marshals, must have a health certificate following a negative test for coronavirus.
- Teams would only be permitted into their own garages with assigned FIA scrutineers and a member of staff from tyre-supplier, Pirelli.
- Social distancing measures would be enforced while staff would wear protective gloves and race suits.
- No media access, catering or non-essential staff at the track.
- Packed lunches supplied for staff.
Silverstone’s Medical Centre is already set up for coronavirus cases, with isolation areas in place.
Once the race is over, team members would return to their factories or designated airports via bus transfer, while UK based staff would be free to return home.
