Wanda Icardi in talks with PSG chiefs about husband Mauro’s transfer in shock U-turn as Juve wait to move for Inter ace

MAURO ICARDI’S time at Paris Saint-Germain may not be up after all amid growing reports the striker’s wife and agent Wanda Nara is thrashing out a deal with the Ligue 1 champions.

With his future destined to be away from parent club Inter Milan, the Argentine is being tracked by Juventus but does have an option to stay in France.

PSG hold a £61million clause to sign Icardi permanently after his initial loan spell with the club.

The chances of that happening appeared to be nil recently following reports of a bust-up between the player and coach Thomas Tuchel.

Yet RMC, via GFFN, now talk of Les Parisiens sporting director Leonardo edging towards keeping Icardi around.

They say Nara is in discussion with the transfer chief to determine what role her client would play at Parc des Princes from next season onwards.

Tuchel has increasingly opted away from playing the forward in the weeks before football’s shutdown, preferring Edinson Cavani despite the Uruguayan being set to leave the club when his contract expires later this year.

It was even claimed that PSG had terminated Icardi’s loan contract over a dispute with Nara.

Speculation was rife that he is determined to leave France, where he is thought to be living away from his two children and the three kids TV presenter Wanda has from her previous relationship with Maxi Lopez.

Yet there appears to be a change in course with Italian media also detailing a U-turn in negotiations that could lead to an extended stay.

During the coronavirus pandemic, Icardi has returned to Italy to spend time with his family and could stay in the country if Juventus can pull off a move.

The Old Lady are said to be considering a large player-exchange deal to bag the 27-year-old with big clubs’ finances significantly stretched for the coming transfer window, making big-money moves few and far between.

AC Milan, Chelsea and Real Madrid have all also been named in recent months as monitoring Icardi’s future.
