Stands have been erected on the site, which is situated next to Miami International Airport.

Steel structures have been put up on the west side, which will house the majority of the stadium’s hospitality.

While there are also concrete steps in place for the upper and lower tiers of the future stand.

As well as the new stadium, work is also underway on the wider campus, including new roads and parking lots, along with a public park.

Inter Miami’s new stadium will have a capacity of 25,000 and construction is estimated to cost $1bn.

The project was green-lit by the city of Miami following a referendum in which it got 60 per cent approval.

Freedom Park will be 100 per cent privately funded, while Inter Miami will pay 57 per cent over fair market value in rent to the city.

It’s claimed that rent alone from the 131-acre development area will bring the city $2.67bn over the term of the lease.
