Liverpool trophy parade LIVE: Thousands lining the streets NOW for Premier League champions’ bus parade – updates

LIVERPOOL are parading the Premier League trophy RIGHT NOW with thousands of fans lining the streets!

The Reds lifted the trophy yesterday after a stunning campaign in which they won the title by 10 points.

Liverpool last won the league in 2020 – but fans were unable to celebrate with their title-winners due to Covid lockdown.

So how far from the end are we?

Well, the bus is currently about 2 miles away from the finish line.

Normally that’d take a couple of minutes – but I’ve got a hunch we could be here a while longer!

  • Absolute scenes

The streets are packed in a sea of red.

    Fans are loving every moment.

One person NOT loving the moment? The driver of the Arriva bus who somehow made their way onto the parade route and got stuck.

That’s what local reports are claiming… iconic moment.

  • What an atmosphere

There is no sign of this party slowing down.

In fact, as we get closer and closer to the bus’ end point, it’s getting more and more lively.

Fans are making the most of their Bank Holiday out in their tens of thousands. Probably more like hundreds of thousands, really.

  • Double double Dutch

There’s a strong Dutch contingent in this Liverpool side.

    The gaffer: Arne Slot.

    The captain: Virgil van Dijk.

Best player not named Mo Salah: Ryan Gravenberch.

    Mr Versatile: Cody Gakpo.

And right now it’s Van Dijk hyping up the crowd.

He’s got the trophy in his hands, holds it aloft and the crowd are LOVING it.

With Jeremie Frimpong expected to come, Liverpool fans have a lot to love about Holland right now.

  • Ole, ole, ole

“Championes, championes, ole ole ole…” is the cry.

Darwin Nunez has also got his hands on a Liverpool-themed championship belt to commemorate the day.

    Naturally.

  • Parades galore

It’s not just Liverpool fans who are enjoying a parade today.

Crystal Palace are at Selhurst Park celebrating their first-ever trophy, having won the FA Cup earlier this month.

But Napoli are also parading having clinched a dramatic Serie A title.

The weather there is, err, different. The colour scheme? Even more so…

  • Where are ya?

It really is something out there on the streets of Liverpool.

    Confetti, scarves, flags… umbrellas.

But also, flares. Lots of smokin’, red flares.

This picture just about sums it up… can the players even see the fans at this point?

  • In the immortal words of Klopp: “Boom”

The bus has rounded a corner and been hit by a barrage of confetti cannons.

I refuse to believe that wasn’t a perfectly executed plan.

It was relentless, like the sound of the NYE fireworks show on the Thames, it was a thunderous volley of explosions.

And the bus has been rained on (err, by confetti, I don’t just mean the actual rain.)

  • Don’t move a muscle

Or in fact, maybe it’s more CAN’T move a muscle.

Liverpool is packed. The sea is red is bouncing… but on the spot.

You couldn’t swing an Etruscan shrew, let alone a cat out there.

    Drink. It. In.

  • What a Mo-ment

We can’t get through the parade without talking about this man: Mohamed Salah.

One of THREE Liverpool stars who was set to be out of contract this summer, along with Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

But Salah, along with Van Dijk, will be staying.

And his outrageous season – at one stage set to shatter all records – is a huge reason why Liverpool are even enjoying this parade right now.

Check out his Premier League stats for 2024-25… and him in part Mo-od.

(I love that’s he got one of those old-school disposable Kodak cameras… low-tech, high nostalgia).

Of course, this day is for the players and the staff, recognising their incredible achievement.

But really? Really, it’s for the fans.

    They. Are. Loving. It.

  • First Australia, now Malta

Fans really are coming from all over the globe to soak in this atmosphere.

Local reports claim a woman has flown over from Malta, arriving in the UK at 10am and is due to fly back at 9pm… all to experience this.

They’re claiming there are 4,000 fans have flown in from Malta to visit Merseyside today.

    That’s incredible!

  • Enough talk… more players!

Yeah they’re loving this, aren’t they.

    How could they not?

They’ve won the league and they’re being treated like royalty here today.

    Check it out.

  • Come from a land Down Under

Fans have waited HOURS after picking their prime parade spot.

And all to see their heroes for about 20 seconds before the bus is out of sight again.

    That’s commitment, yes.

But THIS… this is something else. Local reports claim a man flew in to the UK and whizzed up to Merseyside from AUSTRALIA.

Not to watch a match, not to see the title-clinching moment… just to soak in the atmosphere.

He waited in the Jolly Miller pub and lived his dream as the bus trundled past.

Someone, anyone, please… get that man a beer!

  • Where’s Arne?

    Look closely.

    Look around.

Actually… just look smack bang in the middle of this picture.

It’s the boss. The title-winning boss. It’s Arne Slot… instant Liverpool legend.

  • Best seats in the house

    Liverpool fans are EVERYWHERE.

Some want that road-side vantage point.

Some are… let’s say “getting more creative”.

  • “Best city in the world”

Curtis Jones, the local lad in the team, has just called Liverpool “the best city in the world”.

He’s loving playing a bigger role in his boyhood team.

Bucket hat on (in red, of course) and phone in hand to snap the hoards of supporters, he is living his best life.

Jones is joined by Dominik Szoboszlai – who has loudly demanded they “PARTY” – and the “Greek Scouser”, Kostas Tsimikas… who briefly ripped the microphone from the TV presenter to take over TV duties.

    Sensational stuff.

  • Give me more players

    Your wish is my command.

    They’re in the party mood.

The beers are flowing, the smiles are wider than ever.

Wataru Endo, the cult icon that he is, is loving it.

    WHAT MORE COULD YOU WANT?

  • “We Found Love”

    Actually… we found Calvin Harris.

He’s returned as Liverpool on-board, parade bus DJ.

For those who don’t know who he is… oh forget it. You know who he is!

Harris joined the Reds in 2022 for the Carabao Cup and FA Cup parade.

And he’s back, after being invited by Virgil van Dijk. What a man.

  • I know what you’re thinking…

…”Stop talking and show me Darwin Nunez”.

    Well, probably not, actually.

But anyway, he’s here and he’s living his best life.

Of course, he’s expected to leave this summer after two action-packed, never-know-what-you’re-going-to-get kinda seasons.

Nunez has attracted the attention of Saudi clubs, who could come close to meeting his £85million price-tag.

If this is farewell, what a farewell it is.

  • By any means necessary

Fans are out in their droves to catch a glimpse of their heroes.

There are supporters on rooftops, as well as lining the streets.

But, most-impressively, there’s even some scaffolding erected for a few fans to get an even better view of it all.

    Talk about commitment…

  • Won’t dampen the spirits

The rain is coming down as a puff of umbrellas has gone up around the city.

But it’s not dampening the spirits.

And it’s not extinguishing the fireworks, either!

  • YNWA

In between the pounding music and sea of flare smoke engulfing the city, there’s occasionally an outbreak of something familiar.

“When you walk through a storm…”

The opening line appears to prick up the ears of the Reds faithful who’ll roar out an impassioned version of “You’ll Never Walk Alone”.

Even over all the horns (reminiscent of 2010’s vuvuzelas at times), the fans are making themselves heard.

    Incredible.

  • How did we get here?

Rival fans have been quick to make snide comments.

“Oh Manchester City have been so poor”.

“Arsenal would have won it if not for injuries”.

“Chelsea got off to a slow start”.

And then there’s whatever was going on at Manchester United and Tottenham. Ouch.

But do you know what? WHO CARES?

Liverpool were far and away the best and – crucially – most-consistent team all season.

The Reds lost just TWICE before the title was wrapped up with an emphatic 5-1 win over Tottenham at Anfield.

You can forgive them for going on holiday a wee bit early. This title was months of hard work and grinding in the making.

  • “Ours Again”

The bus is weaving its way through the city as players and staff beam down towards the fans.

There’s the odd Everton fan out there, dressed in blue.

But they’re getting into the spirit. One Toffees fan claimed she’s there as she’s “proud of the city”.

    Friendly derby, indeed…

The bus is adorned with the words “Premier League champions” and “OURS AGAIN”.

It’s Liverpool’s second Premier League title and 20th top-flight crown. Those are numbers not to be sniffed at.
