MANCHESTER CITY fans were given massive donation towards their Kevin De Bruyne display for Saturday’s FA Cup final.

But generous Erling Haaland forked out £4,200 of his own money to put towards it.

City announced in April that their star playmaker De Bruyne will leave at the end of this season after ten years of glittering service.

The midfielder was the beating heart of a side that won six Premier League titles and the club’s first Champions League.

As Manchester City have endured a disappointing league campaign, by their standards, the FA Cup final was to be his final opportunity to lift a trophy in sky blue.

Haaland, whose father also played for Manchester City, did some financial heavy lifting in secret to help the fans honour the Belgian with banners before the final.

He said this week ahead of the Wembley clash: “It’s been a pleasure to play with him.

“Hopefully in the last couple of games we’re going to have a really good time.

“We clicked straight away from the first second and it’s going to be emotional when a good friend leaves. Maybe the best player ever to play for City – one of the best to play in the Premier League as well.”

His donation made up 84 per cent of the fan group 1894’s original £5,000 target.

The group nearly hit £12,000 in one day from 360 donations.
