Bournemouth vs Brentford LIVE RESULT: Bees fight from goal down to win as Norgaard and Wissa fire in goals

BOURNEMOUTH host Brentford in the final game of a packed Premier League Saturday.

The hosts have slowed down from their early season form but Bournemouth will still fancy their chances against Brentford – who continue their up and down form.

Earlier, Man City dropped more points as they were twice pegged back by Brighton.

Nottingham Forest welcomed that slip up as they moved six points ahead of their Champions League-chasing rivals – beating Ipswich Town 4-2.

Elsewhere, Everton scored a 91st-minute leveller to earn a point against David Moyes’ former club, West Ham, while Wolves beat struggling Southampton 2-1.

  • Brentford scorer Yoane Wissa:

“This is the kind of game I like, when it is open and goes end to end.

“I like this team because they play with a lot of confidence, I like this kind of team. I enjoy playing against them.

“We suffered a lot, especially in the second half. We got three points today so I’m very pleased about that.

“We take game by game. If you want to reach your targets, you have to win this kind of game and then win against Newcastle.

“We have the international break and then we have to come back and work hard.”

  • Bournemouth’s Dean Huijsen

”So frustrating, it’s all I can say. It’s easy, we gave it away so easily. I blame myself too, it’s not good enough, two set-pieces they score, they didn’t create nothing.

“It can’t be that easy to score set-pieces like that against us. It has to be better.

“I think we could score another goal but it starts with defending. We always score.

“We’ve been doing very well. I don’t think our play has been bad at all, we definitely deserve to get more points in these last few games.”

  • Prem table – bottom half

Brentford’s win is their third in the last five games.

They are now just a point off 10th-place Fulham.

As we can see below, Bournemouth had seven more shots than Brentford.

They also enjoyed the lion’s share of possession tonight.

  • PEEEEEEP – FULL TIME

Game over. And what a win for the Bees.

1-0 down after struggling to impress in the opening stages.

But they leave the Vitality as 2-1 victors.

And another three points in the bag means Brentford are now just one point off the top half.

  • 93′ – Bournemouth 1 Brentford 2

The Bees have almost every man behind the ball now.

This will be a huge result for Thomas Frank if his side can hold out for a few more minutes.

Bournemouth are trying to get the ball forward.

But they are being met with a fierce wall of resistant from Brentford’s defenders.

  • 90′ – Bournemouth 1 Brentford 2

Another yellow for the Cherries, this time for Hill as he takes down Keane-Potter.

The foul allows Brentford to draw some time out, with the result so close now.

We have five added minutes here.

  • 88′ – Bournemouth 1 Brentford 2

Time is running out here for Bournemouth to find an equaliser.

As it stands, Brentford will move just three points behind them in the table.

It will also see the Cherries fall four points off fifth place and the final Champions League spot.

  • 83′ – Bournemouth 1 Brentford 2

    Close again from the Cherries!

Tavernier lets rip from distance with a fierce shot.

Flekken saves but he can only parry the ball this time.

Bournemouth have cranked up the pressure in the last few minutes and it’s starting to show.

  • 81′ – Bournemouth 1 Brentford 2

    Big miss from the hosts!

David Brooks has just come on and is picked up by Sinisterra.

The Welshman is straight in front of Flekken and has the whole goal to aim at.

But Brooks instead fires it straight at the goalie, who saves with ease.

  • 78’ – Bournemouth 1 Brentford 2

    From SunSport’s Graham Nickless:

“Bournemouth were unlucky not to take the lead straight after the break.

“Semenyo was all alone when he met Kluivert’s cross perfectly with his head but the ball smacked against the bar.

“And Brentford took advantage of more poor defending to go ahead on 71 minutes.

“Two defenders allowed Kevin Schade’s long throw bounce in the box and Christian Norgaard volleyed home.”

  • 76′ – Bournemouth 1 Brentford 2

Little scuffle here as Lewis-Potter is fouled by Semenyo.

The Brentford man is caught in the face by a loose arm.

And Semenyo picks up a yellow as the situation is diffused quickly.

  • 74′ – Bournemouth 1 Brentford 2

Janelt and Ajer are now off, with Van den Berg and Yarmolyuk on.

Brentford will want to shut up shop now.

But they know they can’t sit back too much as Bournemouth are sure to attack.

The Cherries feel they should have had a penalty for a foul on Evanilson, but replays show the striker was offside to begin with.

  • 70′ – Bournemouth 1 Brentford 2

    A throw-in goes into Bournemouth’s box.

Their defenders can’t deal with the bouncing ball.

And it falls to Norgaard, who fires home in style.

It’s two set-piece goals for the Bees!

  • GGGOOOOAAAALLLLL

Brentford are ahead at the Vitality!

  • 68′ – Bournemouth 1 Brentford 1

The Cherries make an attacking sub with Sinisterra on for Christie.

That should see Tavernier drop deeper into midfield alongside Cook.

While Sinisterra has moved to the left, with Semenyo on the right.

At the same time, Tavernier immediately picks up a yellow for holding back Wissa.

  • 64′ – Bournemouth 1 Brentford 1

Schade goes down looking for a penalty.

The ace has his arm pulled slightly by Huijsen.

But the ref is not interested and waves Schade’s pleas away.

Bournemouth then break and Tavernier fires just inches over the bar.

  • 61′ – Bournemouth 1 Brentford 1

Norgaard is limping here but looks like he will continue for now.

The home fans are getting a bit tense here as the Cherries are not imposing themselves like they did early on in the first half.

To compound their fears, Brentford whip in another corner.

But the Cherries are able to clear it to safety.

  • 56′ – Bournemouth 1 Brentford 1

Tavernier gets himself in a wonderful position in front of goal.

The ace times his run perfectly and just has Flekken to beat.

But he gets his feet mixed up and Brentford’s goalie grabs the ball with ease.
