The former Burnley gaffer said his first name should be pronounced “Van-sont” with a soft “t” at the end of his name.

But he revealed that his days as a player in Germany for Hamburg saw his first name become “Vincent” or “Vinny” in the way that Brits would say it.

A post on Bayern’s Tiktok saw the manager say: “So my name is actually pronounced ‘Van-sont’. But I played in Hamburg for two years.

“And it never worked because it is hard to pronounce for Germans I guess. That’s why ‘Vincent’ or ‘Vinny’ is totally fine.”
