WEMBLEY will host the Manchester derby in the FA Cup Final TODAY.
Manchester City won yet another Premier League title while Manchester United endured a horrid season, finishing 8th – their lowest in the Premier League era.
Will FA Cup final go to extra-time or penalties?
The FA Cup has seen a few changes over recent seasons.
Replays were scrapped in order to put at ease the teams competing under a hectic football schedule.
However, extra time has remained.
So if the Manchester derby ends in a draw after 90 minutes of action, both sides will remain on the pitch for at least another 30 minutes.
Penalties, like usual, will only be needed if the game is still drawn after the full 120 minutes.
The last time extra-time and penalties was needed was in 2022 when Liverpool beat Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea after a 0-0 draw.
That was the first time the showpiece final had gone to penalties since 2006 – with Liverpool also victorious in that game after a 3-3 draw with West Ham.
