Under-fire Ten Hag thinks he’s been left ‘in limbo’ at Man Utd as Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s revolution taking time to sort

ERIK TEN HAG reckons he has been left in limbo by the new regime at Manchester United.

Boss Ten Hag is enduring a dismal season with Thursday’s 4-3 loss at Chelsea making it a club record-equalling 12 Prem defeats — with eight games still to go.

And a defensive injury crisis could see United set an unwanted new high when they face bitter rivals Liverpool on Sunday.

Gareth Southgate is already being tipped to take over at Old Trafford after the Euros with many certain Ten Hag’s fate is already sealed.

Yet the under-fire Dutch boss retains an unswerving belief that he will still be in charge next season.

Despite the flak — and a lack of public backing from Sir Jim Ratcliffe — ETH is convinced he will have the last laugh.

Those close to the 54-year-old claim he happily insists he doesn’t care what Gary Neville or any of his growing number of critics say.

Ten Hag is also amazed at claims his strategy is baffling, believing United have been playing well but not getting results they deserve.

Yet, while he is adamant that will keep him in a job, Ten Hag also thinks it is impossible for him to plan ahead until a string of top-level new faces start work.

It is an attitude that will hardly endear him to Ratcliffe or his Ineos  colleagues, who have taken charge of United’s football operations following his £1.03billion investment.

Omar Berrada has been poached from neighbours City as chief executive.

While, Dan Ashworth will become technical director once compensation with Newcastle is agreed.

Ratcliffe also plans to add Southampton director of football Jason Wilcox — yet none are likely to be in place before the summer at best.

Ten Hag thinks any preparations for next term will remain in limbo until they do. Although whether that cuts any ice with Ratcliffe is debatable.
