ERIK TEN HAG could QUIT Manchester United before he’s shown the door at Old Trafford, it’s been claimed.
The Dutchman is on course to oversee the Red Devils’ WORST-EVER Premier League campaign.
United are toiling in eighth place in the table with 54 points to their name and will record their LOWEST-EVER haul even if they win their final three matches of the campaign.
SunSport understands the United brass will relieve Ten Hag of his duties at the end of the season – even if he delivers them the FA Cup final next month.
But it’s been sensationally claimed the 54-year-old could walk before he’s pushed.
That’s according to The Daily Mail, who claim there is a feeling at Old Trafford that “quitting” could be an option for Ten Hag.

It’s claimed Ten Hag may “choose to walk” if he discovers he has limited control over ongoings in the club’s new structure.
Ten Hag has been linked with a shock return to Ajax – whom he left in April 2022 to take over United – in recent weeks but has played down suggestions of a move back to Amsterdam.
He said: “I signed my contract and I am not a person who walks away.
“So I assume that I will be at Manchester United next season.”

Pundits’ verdict on Ten Hag’s future
Where do the pundits stand on Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United future?
Michael Owen – He has to go
“He cannot, simply cannot, manage this team next season. He’s not good enough.”
Teddy Sheringham – Might stay if he wins Cup but should go
“If United win the FA Cup, he could stay. But, for me, changes are needed and United need to get it done sooner than later.”
Jamie Carragher – Sacked
“I don’t see how Erik ten Hag stays. It’s just performance after performance.”
Gary Neville – Stay if he wins the FA Cup
“To sack a manager who’s won two trophies in his first two seasons at the club I think would be extreme.”
Louis Saha – On the fence
“I don’t see it as clearly but they need changes from the players but they need changes from him as well.”
Alan Shearer – Sacked
“I believe the future of the Man Utd manager is already determined. Even if they win the FA Cup I think he’s gone.”
When asked if he’d one day like to return to the Johan Cruyff Arena, he added: “Yes, why not? I had a very good period at Ajax.
“I was able to work there in a very pleasant way. It is a fascinating club with many possibilities.”
Things went from bad to worse for Ten Hag on Monday night as his troops were hammered by Crystal Palace.
The Eagles heaped even more misery on the under-pressure Dutchman with a 4-0 victory at Selhurst Park.
But Ten Hag insists he’s still the right man for the job, telling Sky Sports: “Absolutely.
“If the right players are available, we have a good squad.
“We miss almost the whole backline and then we have problems.
“I will keep fighting. I prepared the team in the best way I could do.
