MORGAN GIBBS-WHITE handed Nottingham Forest their first win of the season as they overcame Southampton.
Forest had headed to St Mary’s as they looked to build on their opening-day draw against Bournemouth.
The visitors spurned a brilliant chance to take the lead in the first half as Nikola Milenkovic fluffed wide from just yards out.
Ibrahim Sangare also went close as he fired just over from 30 yards before the break.
Kyle Walker-Peters had a good chance for the host but could only fire his shot straight at Matz Sels.
Forest continued to have the best of the match in the second half and were rewarded with the opener as Morgan Gibbs-White fired home.
