GEOFF SHREEVES, who achieved legendary status on Sky Sports, is about to start a new role this week.
The commentator’s iconic voice was heard for 31 years with Sky Sports.
Shreeves had been an ever-present figure at Sky Sports since joining in 1992.
But the big-name reporter, 59, quit after SunSport exclusively revealed that he was set to become the latest victim of Sky’s cost-cutting efforts.
He did not have to wait long to land himself a new role behind the mic.
Shreeves’ broadcasting services are now being enjoyed in the USA with CBS Sports on their CBS Sports Golazo show.

The podcast, which will reportedly launch on Thursday, will be known as “For Football, Music and Me”.
Shreeves has already recorded a number of episodes and sat down with Gary Neville, David Moyes and football hard man turned Hollywood actor Vinnie Jones to discuss songs that “have soundtracked their lives”.
There is also due to be an “emotional” one featuring Andy Cole among the footy star line-up.
Singer Beverley Knight and Kasabian’s Leicester City-supporting Serge Pizzorno will also appear.
Shreeves has also been using his time since leaving Sky Sports to help raise £8.5m for Nordoff & Robbins.

And there will be a portion of the profits from his new podcast that will be donated to it.
