DAVID DATRO FOFANA produced the “miss of the century” during the first half of Burnley’s clash with Brentford.
The on-loan Chelsea striker missed from less than six yards out with the goal gaping at Turf Moor.
A fine move from the Clarets saw Lorenz Assignon pick out Fofana with a low cross.
Fofana had found space in front of goal with good movement in the box but could not follow it up with the finish.
Instead, his side-footed effort rolled miles wide of the post, to the shock of those inside the stadium.
The 21-year-old sunk to his knees and covered his mouth in disbelief after the miss.

Jacob Bruun Larsen’s 10th-minute penalty opened the scoring after Sergio Reguilon was sent off for the Bees.
It got even better for the hosts after the break as Fofana atoned for his earlier miss shortly after the hour mark to double their lead.
Fofana has now scored four goals in eight appearances for Burnley, including a wonder goal against West Ham last weekend.
The forward joined Vincent Kompany’s side from Chelsea back in January after his loan spell with Union Berlin was cut short.
Since arriving at Stamford Bridge in January 2023, he has yet to score in four appearances for the Blues.
He also managed just two goals in 17 matches during his time in Germany earlier in the season.
