Newcastle’s injury crisis hits ridiculous new low with even COACH out for months as fans ‘sums up our season’


NEWCASTLE’s injury crisis has swooped to a new low as one of the Magpies backroom staff has suffered a serious blow.

It has been an injury-plagued season for Eddie Howe’s side who currently have had 10 players sidelined.

The Magpies are dropping like flies as last weekend’s clash against West Ham saw Tino Livramento, Miguel Almiron and Jamaal Lascelles suffer new fitness problem.

But now even Newcastle’s coaching staff are suffering after goalkeeping coach Shwan Jalal has faced serious damage to his knee during the club’s recent trip to Dubai.

And fans are fed up saying this, “sums the season up big time”.

While another added: “Even the staff are getting injured🤣.”

A third has then predicted the Magpies have been cursed as they put: “You know it’s bad when the coaching staff are getting injured. Did Eddie break a mirror or something?”

The 40-year-old went down with the injury in the final 15 minutes of the last session before the squad returned home to Tyneside.

Jalal who used to play for Bournemouth from 2008-2014 will be out of action until pre-season and has his leg in a protective brace.

Adam Bartlett, the club’s head of goalkeeping will now take care of the Magpies keepers.

It’s been a problem position for the Toon all season with Nick Pope sidelined for most of it with shoulder injury.

Meanwhile, Newcastle have lost defenders Sven Botman and Lascelles to ACL injuries in recent weeks with their return date not yet known.

While Keiran Trippier, Lewis Miley, Livramento and Almiron are hoping to return to the team sheet in the coming weeks.

Joelinton who has just undergone groin surgery is unlikely to play until next season and the same goes for Callum Wilson who went down with a chest injury back in April.

Midfielder Sandro Tonali is currently suspended until next term for breaching betting rules but may have his sentence extended after he was charged with 50 alleged gambling offences last week.
