FORMER Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger was caught speaking into his coffee cup instead of a microphone while working as a Euro 2024 pundit.
The 39-year-old was covering a match for German broadcaster ARD when the bizarre mix-up occurred.
After making a joke about his drink with presenter Esther Sedlaczek, he accidentally began speaking into the cup.
It prompted Sedlaczek to quickly point out his error before he swapped back to the microphone.
Fans took to social media to react, with one person writing: “What makes this even funnier is the fact how much he talked about coffee beforehand. He was asked how he and others prepared for such a match and he mentioned he was the coffee guy who always needed his coffee.”
Another commented: “We’ve all been there.”
