MAURICIO POCHETTINO has spoken with Thiago Silva after the Brazilian’s wife appeared to call for him to be sacked.
The Chelsea boss oversaw a dismal 4-2 home defeat to Wolves last Sunday.
The defeat saw the Blues fall to 11th in the Premier League, with an even worse points tally than last year.
During the closing stages of the match, Silva’s wife Belle wrote on social media: “It’s time to change. If you wait any longer it will be too late.”
She has since refused to delete the tweet, which remains live as Chelsea prepare for their FA Cup clash with Aston Villa.
When asked about Silva during his pre-match press conference, Pochettino said: “He came today to talk with me.

“I am not going to talk in the way we were talking. The important thing is he came and wanted to talk with me.
“He knows me after more than 10 years, who I am, we are a very strong coaching staff and the way we operate. Of course he came to talk. We talked. It was private. And that’s it.”
Following an awful week for the Blues, Pochettino has revealed that he held a team meeting with his players.
He continued: “I told the players in a meeting today that I trust you more than ever.

“I am going to support you more than ever. I am not a normal boss. I am the leader and I need to reflect in every single action that I really trust.
“Of course we are going to face this moment with knowing that we can get back and start to win games.
“Of course we are very disappointed because in the way we lose the game and the way we perform wasn’t the plan or the way we wanted to compete. But we need to keep going.”
SunSport understands that Pochettino’s job is currently safe.
And the Argentine claims to have received great support from the club’s owners.
He added: “I received a very good text from them.
“We are all together in this. And that is the most important thing.”
Silva has been with wife Belle since 2004.
They have two sons together, with the eldest Isago, 15, having been spotted playing for Chelsea’s academy last year.
