MASON MOUNT has admitted he is beyond devastated after yet another injury blow ruled the Man Utd star out for an indefinite period.
The former Chelsea ace was forced off during the first half of last weekend’s Manchester derby, and appeared visibly emotional as he left the field.
In a statement released on Friday evening, he said: “Words can’t portray how devastated I’m feeling right now, you could probably see the look on my face when it happened. I knew what it meant.
“United fans, you may not know me too well yet, but one thing I can guarantee, I will never give up or lose faith.
“I’ve said this before, but I will continue to give everything, get through this tough period and won’t stop until that’s achieved.”
Mount’s statement comes just hours after Ruben Amorim confirmed he would miss the festive period as a result of the injury.

In his pre-match press conference, Amorim admitted Mount would be out for “several weeks”.
He said: “I don’t know the exact date, but it’s going to be for long. And that’s it, it’s part of football and you continue.”
Expanding on the Red Devils’ injury woes, Amorim said he will not delve further into the ongoing issues.
He added: “That is not my department.

“What I can do is to help Mase, to teach him how to play our game when he’s recovering.
“To try to use that time for him to think about different things. I think the worst part is that we don’t have time to train like we should do, when you are recovering from a lot of injuries.”
Mount’s former Chelsea team-mate Reece James sent him a classy message of support, writing: “Not many people understand what you’re going through, but I have lived disappointment after disappointment after disappointment.
“It’s real tough and lonely man! Speedy recovery and stay strong brother! I have 0 doubts you’ll be back to your best.”
Marcus Rashford’s exile looks set to continue this weekend when Bournemouth travel to Old Trafford.
Luke Shaw is also set to miss out, with Matthijs de Ligt a slight doubt too having missed the midweek defeat to Tottenham with illness.
