Mason Greenwood’s final Getafe match delayed by horror injury to keeper as ambulance forced to come on to pitch


MASON GREENWOOD’S final Getafe game was halted because of a horror injury.

The on-loan Manchester United star started Getafe’s last LaLiga match of the season against Mallorca.

An ambulance was called to take the stricken keeper away

But the match was abruptly halted in the 73rd minute following an injury to Getafe goalkeeper David Soria.

Soria clashed with a Mallorca player outside the penalty box and went down injured.

Physios rushed onto the pitch to give him medical treatment, with a sheet held over the stricken keeper.

The match was delayed for 11 minutes as an ambulance drove onto the pitch.

Greenwood could be seen nervously watching on from a distance before Soria was able to slowly walk off the pitch as he was subsitutued.

Getafe – who were leading 1-0 at the time of the injury with Greenwood impressive – went on to lose the match 2-1 to finish 12th in the table.

Greenwood, 22, is likely to leave Getafe after scoring 10 goals in 36 appearances in all competitions.

The likes of Barcelona, Juventus and Atletico Madrid have all been linked with a move for the United star.

While Napoli have also joined the race to sign Greenwood, who could cost around £45million.

However he could also leave on loan once again with United to decide his future in the coming weeks.
