MANCHESTER UNITED have been told to bring back Sir Alex Ferguson for the FA Cup final against Manchester City.
The Red Devils are having a dire end to the season and there has been calls to sack Erik ten Hag after the humiliating 4-0 defeat to Crystal Palace.
Man Utd have never finished a Premier League season below seventh and they currently sit eighth in the table.
The club have picked up 54 points so far and are on course to end on less than their lowest ever total of 58.
Fans are increasingly worried that Pep Guardiola’s side will brush the Red Devils aside with ease in the FA Cup final and it becomes another low point for Ten Hag.
But talkSPORT’s Andy Goldstein has shockingly claimed United should re-appoint Ferguson for one game to give them the best chance of winning.

The Man Utd supporter explained: “I’ve got a plan. Here is my thinking and hear me out.
“Steve McClaren is there at the moment, if Manchester United were to get rid of Ten Hag today, they can forget the fixtures in the Premier League.
“For the FA Cup final against Man City, they should have in the dressing room to give the speech beforehand – Sir Alex Ferguson.
“He becomes the manager just for the FA Cup final. It gives Man Utd the best chance to beat Man City.

“He has got something that nobody else has. Just by walking into a room he has it.
“Imagine Marcus Rashford, I don’t know where he is physically or mentally, but what I do know is a Man Utd player born and bred [will respond], same with Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo.
“Sir Alex in that dressing room at Wembley, Fergie gives a speech, United have got every chance.
“He’s the manager just for that day. Imagine the lift. It’s genius.
“We are not going to win it with Ten Hag.”
Goldstein’s co-host Darren Bent called the idea “bonkers” and claimed Ferguson has spent too long out of the game.
Fans were split on the legendary boss returning, with one saying: “It’s a good idea and if it improved the attitude by ten per cent of the team then it’s better than what they are going in with Ten Hag.”
Another added: “It’s not genius it’s delusional.”
A third joked: “David Moyes back more likely.”
With pressure mounting on Ten Hag, names like Thomas Tuchel, Gareth Southgate and Graham Potter have been linked with the Man Utd job.
But the Dutchman has not given up yet, saying after the demolition by Palace: “I will keep fighting. I prepared the team in the best way I could do.
“It was by far not good enough and I have to take responsibility for that.
Asked if it was a new low in his reign, Ten Hag replied: “Yes. Our worst defeat.
“We should have kept fighting like the fans did.

“It’s clear, this is underperforming. It’s by far not good enough. We are very disappointed.
“It’s a deserved defeat.”
Pundits’ verdict on Ten Hag’s future
Where do the pundits stand on Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United future?
Michael Owen – He has to go
“He cannot, simply cannot, manage this team next season. He’s not good enough.”
Teddy Sheringham – Might stay if he wins Cup but should go
“If United win the FA Cup, he could stay. But, for me, changes are needed and United need to get it done sooner than later.”
Jamie Carragher – Sacked
“I don’t see how Erik ten Hag stays. It’s just performance after performance.”
Gary Neville – Stay if he wins the FA Cup
“To sack a manager who’s won two trophies in his first two seasons at the club I think would be extreme.”
Louis Saha – On the fence
“I don’t see it as clearly but they need changes from the players but they need changes from him as well.”
Alan Shearer – Sacked
“I believe the future of the Man Utd manager is already determined. Even if they win the FA Cup I think he’s gone.”
