MANCHESTER UNITED loanee Donny van de Beek suffered another setback at Eintracht Frankfurt last week.
The 26-year-old was substituted on and off during Frankfurt’s Bundesliga clash with Bochum on Saturday.
He replaced Hugo Larsson just 21 minutes into the match but was hauled off again before full-time.
When explaining the substitution, Frankfurt manager Dino Toppmoller admitted: “Unfortunately, I had to replace Donny again.
“This is because we knew he wouldn’t be able to keep up the power for 70 minutes.”
Toppmoller apologised to Van de Beek last week after leaving him out of Eintracht Frankfurt’s Europa Conference League squad.

The German manager claimed the midfielder’s match fitness has not been up to standard since joining from Man Utd.
He revealed: “He’s only played a total of four games in the last two years, so it won’t happen overnight.
“But I have 100 per cent confidence in his quality, he’ll definitely help us in the second half of the season.
“I told Donny that I was sorry but also what I expected from him now.”

Frankfurt have the option to buy Van de Beek for just £13million at the end of the season.
However, given his run of poor form he could be forced to return to Old Trafford.
The Dutchman joined Man Utd in a £40m transfer from Ajax in 2020 but struggled to establish his spot in the starting line-up.
Van de Beek has scored just two goals in 62 appearances since signing for the Red Devils.
He spent six months at Everton in 2022 but was limited to just seven outings due to injury.
