MANCHESTER UNITED fans named the next academy prospect set for his big break after a warm embrace with manager Erik ten Hag.
Ten Hag is undergoing a turbulent campaign as United have tumbled down to seventh place in the Premier League table with 13 points separating them from the top four.
However, the Dutch tactician has successfully promoted some of the club’s best youth talents to the senior squad, with Kobbie Mainoo posing as the most recent example.
Mainoo, 18, has been established as a key player in Ten Hag’s midfield and is likely to receive an England call-up for this summer’s Euro 2024.
This comes after the ex-Ajax boss also brought in the likes of Alejandro Garnacho and Willy Kambwala.
And now United fans believe Harry Amass, 17, is next in line.

Ten Hag was spotted in Carrington congratulating the Red Devils’ youngsters for winning the Under-18 Premier League North title.
The Dutchman met the players while they were having lunch and shook everyone’s hand.
But, upon meeting Amass, the United boss spent a little extra time with him as he accompanied his handshake with a warm embrace and a quick chat.
United fans stormed social media immediately after that exchange and are adamant it’s only a matter of time until the left-back makes his senior debut.

One fan tweeted: “The way he congratulated Amass you can tell he likes him.”
Another commented: “Amass gets the Mainoo treatment.”
A third posted: “The way he looked at Amass!!!! He’s surely on the verge of his debut.”
This one said: “Amass is his favourite.”
And that one posted: “A very friendly exchange with Harry Amass, in particular. I’d love to see him debut before the season’s out.”
Amass has already trained with United’s first team this season due to Ten Hag’s ongoing injury hell, which at one point left him without a left-back as both Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia were sidelined.
The defender was also involved in the matchday squad that drew 2-2 with rivals Liverpool earlier this month at Old Trafford.
However, the England Under-17 international has yet to make his senior debut for the Manchester giants.
Man Utd are LUCKY to be seventh in the table… one particular stat is terrible, say Dave Kidd
By Dave Kidd
THE frightening thing about Manchester United’s season is that they should really be LOWER than seventh in the Premier League.
Even during their current run of one win in seven league matches, United’s results have been better than their performances.
Erik ten Hag’s team deserved to lose each of their last three drawn games against Brentford, Liverpool and Bournemouth.
On goal difference, United are ninth in the league, while only seven teams have scored fewer than their 47 goals.
And if we give any credence to ‘expected points’, then that stat would have them 15th in the table.
If Ten Hag’s men lose Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final to Championship side Coventry, it should not come as a major surprise.
