Marcus Rashford speaks
Manchester United star Marcus Rashford praised manager Ruben Amorim.
Nice result. We have to back this performance up and hopefully we win in the week.
That is the aim for all of us [to get back to our best]. Even when you are at your best, you have to push and improve.
He [Ruben Amorim] has come in at a very busy period but hopefully we can keep growing the connection and keep getting stronger.
He has come in with a great attitude and that’s passed on to the players. We are happy.
Playing at this historic stadium is always an amazing feeling.
We want to find consistency in the way we play, and our results, and that is the main focus. It’s early on but I feel energised and ready for the next game.
Marcus Rashford
Ruben Amorim reacts
Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim refuses to get carried away from the impressive result and insists there is still a lot of work to do.
The result was good but we were pragmatic. We were pragmatic and did our job. We can still adapt and have a long way to go.
In the right moments we had the goals and that changed the game. We don’t just focus on the result.
We have so much to do but it is better to work with victories.
Let’s focus on the performance more. We have good moments but some where we suffer.
Ruben Amorim
Neil Custis from Old Trafford
Ruben Amorim said Marcus Rashford had to “want it” to get back to his very best.
Well he certainly wanted it on this Sunday afternoon and he got it with a pair of goals and a display that suggested the new boss is quickly finding the old Rashford.
Goodness me, Amorim even got a pair of goals out of Joshua Zirkzee as well and we were wondering if he would ever have a shot again.
It was just Everton, but it was also impressive from the Red Devils.
It is not often you get a comfortable win in the league for the fans to enjoy here at Old Trafford.
That’s two victories and a draw in Amorim’s first three games. The new boss bounce has put a spring back in the steps of United fans.
And back in Rashford who scored two in a game for the first time in 22 months when he did just that in the 3-0 win over Leicester City at home.
He was in a purple patch then on his way to posting career best figures of 30 goals in a season.
That is the Rashford Amorim wants back, that is the Rashford United need.

That’s the first time Manchester United have won a Premier League game by four goals or more since the opening day of the 2021-22 season in a 5 -1 victory over Leeds United.
Let’s not forget that the opposition wasn’t the best – Sean Dyche and his players may have arrived with only one defeat in eight but they lack firepower and were a walking disaster at the back. Even so.
Ruben Amorim is fast giving his side an identity only three games since taking over and Marcus Rashford with a double is beginning to look like his former self – a true predator.
Why, even Joshua Zirkzee got two goals. So things must be on the up at Old Trafford.
Updated Premier League table
Manchester United are now ninth in the Premier League table with four points separating them from the top four.
Everton, on the other hand, are 15th with two points away from the relegation zone.

FT: Man Utd 4-0 Everton
Manchester United picked up their biggest win under new manager Ruben Amorim against Everton at Old Trafford.
Marcus Rashford opened the scoring on 34 minutes when he met a brilliant corner-kick from Bruno Fernandes down the left and his powerful shot deflected off Jarrad Branthwaite before hitting Jordan Pickford’s net.
Joshua Zirkzee doubled the hosts’ lead just five minutes later with another blunder by Branthwaite, who was dispossessed by Amad Diallo at the back.
That allowed Fernandes to pick up the ball and play the incoming Zirkzee on his left from where the striker sealed the Red Devils’ second.
The Manchester giants made it three just 20 seconds into the second half as Zirkzee delivered a wonderful through ball to Diallo, who set up Rashford for his brace.
And Zirkzee officially announced himself to the Old Trafford faithful on 64 minutes when he completed his own brace thanks to Diallo who stole the ball from midfield and set his team-mate up from the right flank.

Ken Lawrence from Old Trafford
Marcus Rashford still doesn’t smile a lot but inside he must be laughing after collecting his third goal in the three games since Ruben Amorim took over United.
What’s more, his second strike, just 25 seconds after the break, meant he had scored twice in a game for the first time since a 3-0 win over Leicester City 22 months earlier.
Suddenly Rash is looking like he’s having fun again.
Not so Everton boss Sean Dyche after his side were again cut open by an Amorim side that had the Stretford End in full “Five Cantonas” voice.
