Stats
Well, the statistics could be viewed as fairly misleading for this clash with Manchester United having had more shots on target (7), more possession (60%) and a higher xG (2.26) but aside from a couple of moments – Bournemouth didn’t look in any real danger of losing today’s game.
Premier League full-time results
Everton did neighbours Liverpool a favour for the second-straight week by holding Chelsea to a goalless draw at Goodison Park. It was a similar story down at Craven Cottage as Southampton earn a point against Fulham.
Wolves powered their way to victory under new manager Vitor Pereira to leave Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side in 17th position ahead of their next three against Liverpool, Manchester City and Aston Villa.
Everton 0-0 Chelsea
Fulham 0-0 Southampton
Leicester 0-3 Wolves – Guedes, Gomes, Cunha
Manchester United 0-3 Bournemouth – Huijsen, Kluivert, SemenyoMAN UTD 0-3 BOURNEMOUTH
FT: Bournemouth secure a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford for the second time in two visits, deservedly so.
Boos and jeers from those few Manchester United supporters who stayed for the whole game. It’s successive defeats for the hosts, who have conceded seven goals in four days.
All the reaction coming your way.
MAN UTD 0-3 BOURNEMOUTH
92: Yoro nearly grabs a consolation for the hosts as Garnacho smarty cuts it back for the defender, but goalscorer Huijsen makes the block. Tight call between Huijsen and Kluivert for MOTM.
MAN UTD 0-3 BOURNEMOUTH
90: Five minutes of added time to play. That’s perhaps a message for Bournemouth fans only, who are singing and dancing their hearts out. United fans continue to pour out the exits.
MAN UTD 0-3 BOURNEMOUTH
85: The hosts have been limited to speculative efforts and wayward shots since Garnacho’s one-on-one opportunity. Kepa has been great when needed, but home fans are now heading for the exits. No epic comeback on the cards here, folks,
Mazraoui fires United’s 20th shot over. That’s 15 efforts off target today.
MAN UTD 0-3 BOURNEMOUTH
83: “Come on, move it,” I can hear someone shouting in the Manchester United end. They eventually did with Hojlund blitzing forward and firing wide. The Cherries respond with a chance of their own as left-back Kerkez strikes just wide.
MAN UTD 0-3 BOURNEMOUTH
80: Could have been 4-0. Kluivert rushes to meet a ball forward and beats the Manchester United goalkeeper before losing control at the crucial moment. And that’s his last action of the game as Billing replaces him. Andoni Iraola looking to shut up shop now as we enter the final ten minutes.
Billing’s last Premier League goal? December 9, 2023 against Manchester United in Bournemouth’s 3-0 win…
MAN UTD 0-3 BOURNEMOUTH
75: Manchester United fans are whistling and booing as Ryan Christie hits the deck, winded by a fierce Bruno Fernandes effort. Not quite sure what referee Craig Pawson was supposed to do about that.
Unal comes on for Evanilson, which is horrendous news for my Fantasy Football team. On 25 points with just Salah captain remaining…
It’s just not happening. Bruno Fernandes does well to find Diallo on the edge of the box but even the golden boy fires wide.
MAN UTD 0-3 BOURNEMOUTH
70: Bournemouth fans are loving this. Man Utd, it’s happened again’, referencing the fact the Cherries won 3-0 here last season. I know Manchester United are fresh from a heroic comeback in the derby last week, but surely this is out of their reach, right?
MAN UTD 0-3 BOURNEMOUTH
65: There was just 2.08 between Bournemouth’s second and third goal. Garnacho looks odds-on to pull one back for the hosts when slipped through one-on-one but he nudges it straight at Kepa.
MAN UTD 0-3 BOURNEMOUTH – SEMENYO
63: Good grief… it’s raining goals at Old Trafford – and it’s the visitors celebrating again, just minutes after bagging their second.
Manchester United are absolutely falling apart as Semenyo slides it past Onana. It’s some great build-up work from Evanilson who robs Mainoo and slides it through to the overlapping Outtara. His cutback is met by an unmarked Semenyo.
MAN UTD 0-2 BOURNEMOUTH – KLUIVERT
60: He won it, he took it and he scored it. Penalty maestro Justin Kluivert sends Onana the wrong way with an emphatic finish in the top left-hand corner. Clutch.
Bournemouth firmly in the driving seat.
PENALTY TO BOUNEMOUTH
59: Kluivert cuts inside from the left channel and Mazraoui makes a real hash of it with a clumsy sliding challenge. The Bournemouth winger hits the deck and referee Craig Pawson has no hesitation in pointing to the spot.
MAN UTD 0-1 BOURNEMOUTH
57: Is that the closest Manchester United have come? Not far off. Harry Maguire glances a corner at the near post and all it needs is a player in red to make contact. Cook hoofs it behind for another corner and Dalot heads tamely over.
No goals anywhere in the Premier League in the second half.
- Everton 0-0 Chelsea
- Fulham 0-0 Southampton
- Leicester 0-3 Wolves – Guedes, Gomes, Cunha
- Manchester United 0-1 Bournemouth – Huijsen
MAN UTD 0-1 BOURNEMOUTH
55: Old Trafford getting frustrated. Moans and groans as goalkeeper Onana keeps hold of the ball for a few seconds too long before rifling it up the other end of the field for his opposite number to collect.
Manchester United haven’t built on the momentum they gained in the last 15 minutes of the first half.
And the inevitable changes are made, not sure why Amorim didn’t just make them at the break. Anyway, Hojlund and Garnacho are introduced for Zirkzee and Ugarte.
MAN UTD 0-1 BOURNEMOUTH
50: Ooft. Bournemouth forward Evanilson runs onto a long ball forward and just gets to it ahead of the onrushing Onana inside the penalty area. The Manchester United goalkeeper stays on his feet and Antoine Semenyo eventually fires high and wide from the resulting chance.
We saw Evanilson win three penalties in 90 minutes a few weeks back, looked like it would be another there for a second.
MAN UTD 0-1 BOURNEMOUTH
45: We’re back underway at Old Trafford. Remember, if this stays the same the Bournemouth will move up to fifth and the hosts will remain in 13th position at Christmas.
Malacia is replaced by Yoro, and Cook replaces Smith for Bournemouth. So that’s Diogo Dalot going to left wing-back and Noussair Mazraoui to the right.
I can’t imagine it’ll be too long before Hojlund is introduced.
MAN UTD 0-1 BOURNEMOUTH
HT: There were a smattering of boos at the break from a few unhappy Manchester United fans – but their side really weren’t bad.
11 shots, three on target and an xG of 0.92 to their opponents’ 0.18.
MAN UTD 0-1 BOURNEMOUTH
HT: The Cherries lead Manchester United at the break.
Everton 0-0 Chelsea
Fulham 0-0 Southampton
Leicester 0-3 Wolves – Guedes, Gomes, Cunha
Manchester United 0-1 Bournemouth – HuijsenMAN UTD 0-1 BOURNEMOUTH
45: The Red Devils have enjoyed over 70% possession over the last ten minutes with Bruno Fernandes having THREE decent chances to equaliser. The latest of the three is a long-ranger effort that whistles past the far corner.
Oh, and a miserable afternoon gets even worse for Ruud Van Nistelrooy, who’s Leicester side now trail 3-0 at home to relegation rivals Wolves. Cunha with the latest.
MAN UTD 0-1 BOURNEMOUTH
43: Big Manchester United chance does begging. Some lovely, intricate stuff from Dalot and Diallo down the right channel sees the arriving Fernandes teed up but he drags it. Seconds later, Kepa is at full-stretch to deny Fernandes’ cute, curled effort.
Was a nice height for the Bournemouth stopper.
MAN UTD 0-1 BOURNEMOUTH
40: Ugarte floors the advancing Kluivert and doesn’t even both to look in the referee’s direction – he knew the drill.
These’s travelling Bournemouth fans are making themselves heard now. As things stand, they have moved above Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City into fifth spot! The Cherries win themselves a free-kick in an identical spot to their opener, but completely waste it with a terrible delivery. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it lads!
Latest
Quick update from around the grounds, and it’s Wolves looking like the big winners under new manager Vitor Pereira. If things stay like that, they’ll move up to 18th – just two behind 17th-placed Leicester.

Fulham 0-0 Southampton
Leicester 0-2 Wolves – Guedes, Gomes
Manchester United 0-1 Bournemouth – HuijsenMAN UTD 0-1 BOURNEMOUTH
35: It took a goal to wake Manchester United and their supporters up. There’s suddenly a sense of urgency about the hosts. Bruno Fernandes sends a free-kick straight into the wall before goalscorer Huijsen clears a free-kick.
Adam Smith is booked for giving away the set-piece.
